25K Details – 8am Start – LIME GREEN RIBBONS
25K Course Details
You’ll start from the pavilion where you’ll cross a bridge and turn LEFT to briefly run along the Lake Trail to hop on Devils Racetrack.
Be careful as the bridge will be bouncy, so you’ll need to be prepared for that and to speed walk across or run it at your own risk. Honestly, I think we need to say you HAVE to walk across it with as many people who will be on it (insert shrug)
Once on Devil’s Racetrack, you’ll head towards the Yellow Rock Trail
You will need to take a right here instead of running towards the camping area which will be marked to do so…
Once you hit Yellow Rock (which is very technical in some spots) you’ll be directed to aid or to head left to do a counterclockwise loop before returning to the bottom of Yellow Rock to hop back on the Monument trails.
If you need aid, the Lewis Brothers Yellow Rock Aid Station will be by the road
After Yellow Rock, runners will exit the Monument Trails to hop onto the Fossil Flat Trail and then the Sawmill Trail where they’ll continue on and pass through Lee Creek.
Note: about 3 miles from Yellow Rock AS there will be an emergency water drop
From Lee Creek, you’ll go to Racer’s Hill which will you up to the We Can Take it trail. We Can Take it to Sparky then Orville trails. Orville will end going down some switchbacks and then you’ll arrive at The Mannon AS site hosted by OORC. AND Now the fun begins…..Runners will hop on the Butterfield Trail for a 2 mile technical, uphill run to Holt Road to meet the West Fork XC team water station. After that, you’ll run along a fairly nice Holt Road Jeep Trail before getting on the Gorley King. Put your mud tires on and get ready for what is technically runnable but not…BE CAREFUL…and keep your head down but also up looking for the lime green ribbons. This trail is a pick your own adventure to getting to the next ribbon/trail spot. Literally just get to the next ribbon. This part will be heavily marked. You’ll run the Gorley King, take a right, and head back into the pavilion area to the finish.
25K Aid Stations (The race is cupless, do not ‘expect’ cups at aid stations)
